Product Details
Introduction
SUND's tilting pad journal bearings offer high stability and vibration damping performance, large load capacity, and low frictional energy loss. Because the pads can freely swing with changes in speed, load, and bearing temperature, multiple wedge-shaped pressure oil films are formed around the journal. The forces of these oil films all pass through the center of the journal, thus preventing the destabilizing forces that cause journal whirl, ensuring high bearing stability.
Main Applications
Pumps, motors, generators, gearboxes, compressors, steam turbines, gas turbines, expanders, etc.
Size Range
Maximum inner diameter can reach 900mm

Lubrication and Sealing
Standard tilting pad journal bearings use direct oil injection lubrication. Cold oil is directly injected onto the pad surface through a throttle plug, nozzle, or oil pipe, effectively reducing pad temperature. The sealing design is a large clearance seal, minimizing power consumption and promoting hot oil dissipation to maintain low pad temperatures. For equipment requiring sealing, floating seals or knife-edge seals can be provided. Floating seals greatly reduce the amount of oil flowing along the shaft, while knife-edge seals, although slightly less effective, can still effectively control end face oil leakage. When encountering vibration problems caused by oil starvation or insufficient lubrication, immersion lubrication with double-sided floating seals shows significant advantages, but it should be noted that this design is only suitable for applications with a linear velocity not exceeding 70m/s.
