Good news: The company has once again contributed to the completion of the domestication transformation of sliding bearings for major national equipment! News from the client shows that the No. 1 ethylene cracking gas compressor unit of Zhenhai Refinery has been running smoothly and continuously, marking the successful completion of the research and development task of domesticating the thrust bearing of this compressor unit. This is the first time that the steam turbine thrust bearing of the compressor unit of Zhenhai Refinery's large cracking device has been domestically transformed, which is of significant milestone significance.

Breaking Boundaries Cooperation among Multiple Parties

The cracking gas compressor unit is the core equipment of the No. 1 ethylene cracking device of Zhenhai Refinery, and the thrust bearing is its core. Previously, Zhenhai Refinery relied on imports. In order to master core technologies and promote the domestication of imported unit parts, since 2020, Zhenhai Refinery and SUND Technology have worked closely together to overcome the difficulties in domesticating thrust bearings. During the research and development process, Zhenhai Refinery organized more than 30 technical exchanges, selection research and development, and expert discussions, and finally selected SUND Technology as the manufacturer and solution provider. After the initial production of the domestic bearings, SUND Technology also developed special testing facilities and conducted bench tests. Through multiple rounds of calculations and verifications, the finally determined unilateral limit bearing capacity fully meets the maximum axial thrust requirement of the rotor after the modification of the steam turbine balance pipe displacement.

Domestic Self-Reliance Win-Win Future

The domestication of thrust bearings took nearly 3 years and faced the challenge of having no experience to follow. The Zhenhai Refinery's research and development team took a proactive approach to learning foreign language materials and extensively contacted SUND Technology to develop and test solutions from multiple perspectives. Finally, the domestication of the thrust bearing was completed, saving more than 1.5 million yuan in costs compared to using imported parts. Currently, the displacement, temperature, and status of the bearings of the cracking gas compressor unit are all normal, and the unit is running well.
